Pioneering Innovation for Client Success at Protiviti

Keeva Stuart

Manager, Orlando

Keeva Stuart, a manager at Protiviti’s technology enablement solution who holds not one but two patents, exemplifies a blend of innovation, dedication and client-centric focus. Her ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions within the tech consulting sphere not only elevates the firm’s capabilities but also significantly enhances client outcomes. She continually asks: How can we do this better?

"My goal is to make the complex simple, transforming challenges into victories for our clients."

A Passion for Learning and Innovation

Keeva has been with the firm for 10 years and is currently part of the Internal Audit and Financial Advisory practice (IAFA). More recently, she’s been working closely with the Technology Accelerator Platform (TAP), developing a variety of solutions to improve the efficiency and value of client service delivery. With a degree in International Business and an MBA specialising in accounting, Keeva's career journey has not always centered on technology. “In 2018, the firm rolled out an initiative encouraging everyone to learn new skills,” Keeva recalls.

“One of the applications that was offered was the UiPath (user interface) software. I took the training and found it interesting. So, I kept building up development skills, continued learning and went on to create small automations to help my team and me.

Keeva’s certification in UiPath led to enhanced collaboration with her peers with expertise in this area, including Andrew Galazka, Associate Director, Tech Enablement; and Jeremy Wildhaber, Senior Director, IAFA Technology Enablement, who continue to work closely with her on the TAP team. This team remains dedicated to paving the way for future innovations at Protiviti.

Solving for Automated Audit Artifact Reconciliation

The recent patent Keeva and her colleagues were awarded centers around an innovative process for automating audit tests. It involves a unique combination of technologies to perform automated comparisons between files, using matching algorithms to verify the correctness of access to systems that report financial results. This allows for more efficient and accurate checks for unauthorised access or terminated users, significantly improving the audit process.

Innovating for Efficiency and Accuracy

The newly patented process proved invaluable recently when a client called late on a Friday afternoon with an urgent requirement from their external auditor. Using the automated audit tests, Keeva's team was able to complete the necessary comparisons within a few hours, returning speedy and accurate results for the client while avoiding the need for weekend work and significantly boosting team morale. Without the patented process, the urgent requirement would have taken the team the entire weekend to complete manually, involving hours of painstaking comparisons and checks.

"My goal is to make the complex simple, transforming challenges into victories for our clients," says Keeva.

Making a Difference for Clients

Through her work, Keeva has made a tangible difference in the way clients operate. The patented process not only reduces the time taken for file comparisons but also allows regular monitoring, transforming what was once a regulatory requirement into a routine process for clients that ultimately makes their organisations safer. This innovative approach enables clients to focus on more strategic tasks, saving both time and resources.

Fostering Collaboration and Teamwork

Beyond her technical contributions, Keeva's collaborative spirit shines through her work. She believes in the power of teamwork and attributes the success of the patented accelerator to the collective efforts of her team.

Keeva’s dedication to pushing creative boundaries to deliver efficient solutions for clients and her belief in the strength of teamwork embody the core values of Life At Protiviti.
